Wilma Marie Huss, age 87, of Perham, MN, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Friday, July 16, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dent, MN, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Jerry Nordick officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, rural Perham, MN. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is Thursday, July 15, 2004, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Wilma was born the daughter of George M. and Susan (Stenger) Strauch, in Dora Township, rural Dent, MN, on March 2, 1917. She attended country school in Dora Township, graduating from the eighth grade. On July 5, 1937, Wilma and Ludwig B. Huss were united in marriage at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent. Wilma enjoyed the outdoors and watching nature in her garden, her flowers, and in the birds and wildlife around her. She was an extraordinarily talented, self-taught designer and seamstress. Wilma designed and created most of the banners for Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She also enjoyed knitting and reading as well as her countless hours of volunteer work as a Christian Mother, Catholic Daughter of the Americas, member of the Altar Society, and leader of a Bible Study. Wilma was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving Wilma are her children, Ron (Elva) Huss, of St. Francis, MN, Sharon West, of Simi Valley, CA and Sandi (David) Noble, of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Wayne Huss, Debbie Titus, Melody Castillo, Monica Strong, Greg Herzenach, CindyWestrup, Robert Herzenach, Mary Kay Herzenach, Jenny Fleck, Stephanie Dedier, Brian Davis, Jason Noble, and Stacey Noble; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella, of Grand Rapids, MN and Rita Riestenberg, of Perham, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Wilma in death is her husband, Ludwig, on June 23, 1974; her parents; a sister, Blanche Weis and brothers, George, Jr. Leo, Lawrence and Alois.
