Wilma Brincefield, age 89, of Wadena, MN, formerly of Perham, MN, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, at 2:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, with Pastor Daryl Jacobson (Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Verndale) officiating. Burial will take place in the Perham Village Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 14, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home.
Wilma Opal Briggs was born March 20, 1918, in Welda, KS, to Russell and Opal Briggs. She later moved to Garnet, Kansas. Wilma married Blaine Brincefield from Spencerville, OH, on February 14, 1938. They had two children, Barbara and Larry. In 1955 they moved to Perham, MN, where they owned and operated Jungle Shores Resort on Big Pine Lake until 1991. They also owned and managed the Perham Bowling Lanes from 1959 to 1974. They retired and moved to Wadena, MN, in 1991, living at Shady Acres near Knob Hill since then. Blaine died December 7, 2001. Wilma loved her family and her many friends who will miss her dearly. She loved crocheting, needlework, crossword puzzles, scrabble, traveling, and playing cards. She loved visiting with family and friends. Wilma and Blaine spent many years wintering in Florida. Wilma was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star from 1947 to the present.
Wilma leaves to mourn her daughter, Barbara (Ray) Holten, AK; son, Larry (Sharon) Brincefield, Wadena, MN; grandchildren, Leeanne Mercier, Kevin McKinley, Kimberly (Josh) Ice, Landon (Kris) Brincefield, Logan Brincefield, and Leland Brincefield; step-grandchildren, Vicki, Jill, and Debbie; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michela, and Megan Mercier, and Duncan and Kate Ice.
Preceding Wilma in death are her parents; husband, Blaine; and infant son, Billie.
