William F Warner Jr., age 88, of New York Mills, MN, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Elders Home, New York Mills, MN. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Butler, MN, at 11:00 am with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, June 25, at Holy Cross Church from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with the prayer service at 7:00 pm and also one hour prior to services.
William F Warner was born May 6, 1919, the son of William Sr. and Susie (Schumm) Warner in Butler Township, rural New York Mills. He attended country school. William was baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Catholic Church and remained a member there until his death. William married Evelyn Hoehne on October 2, 1945, in Holy Cross Church, Butler. Together they farmed in Butler Township for 61 years. Evelyn died in December 2006. William has resided at the Elders Home in New York Mills since February 2007. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, deer hunting, camping, and traveling. He also enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a card club for several years.
William is survived by a daughter, Sylvia (Maynard) Falk, New York Mills, MN; son, William III (Connie) Warner, New York Mills, MN; grandchildren, William IV and Macailia Warner, New York Mills, MN; a brother, John (Laura) Warner, Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Ida Warner, Albert Lea, MN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding William in death are his parents; wife, Evelyn; infant daughter, Joyce; granddaughter, Cheryl Falk; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Lester Mischke; and two brothers, Joe and George Warner.
