William "Bill" N. Loerzel

William “Bill” Norbert Loerzel, age 75, passed away on October 14, 2024 at his home in Perham, MN.

He was born on August 30, 1949 to Benedict “Barney” and Violet (Ruther) Loerzel in Perham, MN, the fifth child in a line of 14. He moved to Oregon with his family in 1964. Bill graduated in 1965 and joined the Marine Corps in 1976.

Bill was known for his great stories, expert card playing, and generous heart, always giving to his extended family. There is not enough time or paper to detail all the adventures in his life, but Bill definitely left his mark everywhere he went.

Bill was blessed with two boys, Ty Splane of Fergus Falls, MN and James Loerzel of Perham, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; brother, Benedict “Ben” Jr.; his niece, Jennifer; as well as brothers-in-law, Steven Jaenisch and Arlan Kenyon.

Surviving Bill are his boys, Ty and James; fiancé, Gayle, and her daughters Stephanie, Natasha and Heather; brothers, Joseph (Jaye), Don (Donna), Larry (Theresa), and Thomas (Louise); as well as sisters Gretchen Jaenisch, Barb Kenyon, Patty Smith, Sharon Loerzel, Nancy (Mike) Burch, Nita (Gaylon) Renick, Pamela (Chris) Swaja, and Cindy (Duane) Buck; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
