Willard Johnson, age 88, of Perham, MN, died at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Friday, August 6, 2004.
Willard was born December 7, 1915, the son of George and Minnie (Mattfeld) Johnson, in Elsinore, Utah. The family moved to Minnesota when Willard was a baby. On September 1, 1937, Willard was united in marriage to Gladys Henry at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN. They lived in Gorman Township, rural Perham, until 1949 when they moved to Perham. Willard worked in Bauck's Seed House and did carpentry with Mindermann Construction and Hemmelgarn Construction. He was a lifelong member of the Perham Sportsman's Club.
Surviving Willard are his children, Don (Rita) Johnson, of , Buffalo, MN , and Darlene (Gene) Holzer, of Perham, MN; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Erv Johnson, of Perham, MN; one sister, Alice Fankhanel, of , Frazee, MN ; two brothers-in-law, Wallace and George Henry as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Willard in death is his wife, Gladys, in 1996; three brothers, Marlin, Adolph, and Ray and three sisters, Ella Greiff, Ann Dusterhoft and Verna Brown.
