Warren Rust

Warren E. Rust, Sr. age 75 of Richville, MN died Monday, November 20, 2023 in the Little Falls Care Center, Little Falls, MN. A private graveside service with military honors will be at the Richville Cemetery.

Warren Edward Rust was born September 20, 1948 at St. James Hospital in Perham, MN, the son of Carl and Ada (Castle) Rust. Immediately following his graduation from Perham High School, he voluntarily enlisted in the Army. Warren was proud of his service and he spent time in both Vietnam and Germany. In 1968, Warren met Linda Brink at a horse riding stable and the following year, they were married at the Richville United Methodist Church. Throughout their marriage, Warren and Linda lived in numerous places, mostly in Otter Tail County. Early in their marriage Warren did some trucking, and the couple also spent time in Lewistown, MT where Warren worked on a ranch. He very much enjoyed Montana and his ranch work there. He went on to work at a turkey plant in Frazee, MN, operated a bar in Dent, MN, collected and recycled scrap iron, and for the past twenty-plus years, Warren and Linda owned their trailer court near Bluffton. Warren will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, Dr. Pepper, old country music, and his fondness of John Wayne movies, most of them on VHS tape.

Surviving Warren are his three children MaLinda (John) Berry, Warren Rust II, and Milton (Jessica) Rust; his 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; his two brothers Jerome and Richard; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding Warren in death were his parents; his wife Linda on October 14; his grandson Trevor; his sisters Beverly and Barbara; brothers Carl Gordon and Kenneth; nephews Michael, James, and Robert; and his niece Jenny.
