Violet Zoll

Violet Zoll, age 101, of Perham, MN, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Perham Memorial Home.


Violet was born December 26, 1907 , in Butler , MN , the daughter of John and Cora (Woods) Kimball. She was schooled at Bear Creek School District 165 and then went onto Dakota Business College in Fargo , ND . She was employed at a bank in Deer Creek , MN . On August 29, 1927 , she was united in marriage to Paul Zoll in Breckenridge , MN . They lived in Michigan City , IN , where two sons were born. They moved to Menahga , MN , where they owned and operated a diary farm and their third son was born. Later they also adopted Paul’s two nieces.



Violet enjoyed the farm, her chickens and her large gardens. She was also active in the United Methodist Churches of Perham and Menahga and Homemakers. They moved into Perham in 1971 but continued to have a big garden. Paul died in 1986 and Violet moved into the Perham Memorial Nursing Home in 1993.



Violet is survived by two sons, Richard (LaDonna) Zoll, Cottage Grove, OR; and Forrest (Jean) Zoll, Maple Grove, MN; two daughters, Theresa (Dave) Hopkins, WA; and Dorothy (Bernard) Voge, Bertha, MN; fifteen grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and thirty-four great-great grandchildren.



Preceding Violet in death are her parents; husband, Paul; son and daughter in law, Fred and Shirley Zoll; two brothers and one sister.
