Funeral services for Violet H. Menz. age 88, of Perham, MN, will be Saturday, February 19, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Perham, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2005, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Violet died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.
Violet was born December 29, 1916, in Corliss Township, rural Perham, MN, the daughter of Anton and Veronica (Korynta) Kantowski. In 1946, Violet married Adam Menz Adam died in 1966. In 1972, Violet was united in marriage, in Thief River Falls, MN, to George Menz. George died in 2001. Violet worked as a Nurse?s Aid in the old St. James Hospital and in the Memorial Hospital, both in Perham. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Christian Mothers, St. Mary's Mission Circle and the VFW, Post 4020, Ladies Auxiliary in Perham.
Surviving Violet is her step-daughter, Mary Lou Craft, of Dixon, IL; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Violet in death were her parents; husbands Adam and George and one sister.
