Verna Ryon, age 92, of Perham, MN, died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28, at 11:00 am at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will take place in St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery, Perham, MN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Verna was born September 14, 1914, in the Perham Hospital, Perham, MN, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Mohr) Palubicki. She graduated from Perham High School in 1932 and from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN, in 1936. Verna was employed at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C. On August 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Joseph E. Ryon, of Maryland, at the St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington D.C. They lived in Arlington, VA, and Joe died there in 1967. Verna came to live at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home in 2001.
Verna is survived by eighteen nieces and nephews, including Dick Palubicki, Perham, MN; Jim Palubicki, Fosston, MN; and Ann Marie Hughes, Perham, MN.
Preceding Verna in death are her parents; husband, Joe; brothers, James, Bernard, and Michael Palubicki.
