Verdella Bahls

Verdella Ella Maymie (Jabs) Bahls, age 79, of Perham, MN, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the Perham Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Evergreen, rural Frazee, MN, 2:00 pm with Reverend Del Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 31, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and also one hour prior to services at the church.



Verdella was born November 6, 1926, in Corliss Township, rural Perham, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Schwartzrock) Jabs. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in St. John's Lutheran Church-Corliss, rural Perham. She was married to Adolph Bahls on May 8, 1946. Together they lived and farmed in rural Frazee until Adolph?s death on September 22, 1986 and she was unable to live alone. Verdella moved in with her son, Darrell, before moving into the Perham Memorial Nursing Home in 2005. She loved canning, baking, quilting, and doing embroidery.



Verdella is survived by her children, Darrell Bahls, Frazee, MN; Beverly (Marlin) Steuber, Winter Springs, FL; Roger (Mary Jo) Bahls, Verndale, MN; and Alice (Selmer) Syverson, Kenyon, MN; ten grandchildren, Victoria Bahls, Frazee, MN; Jody Satkanum, Fargo, ND; Josh Bahls, Evansville, MN; Sgt. Brian Steuber, Iraq; Leah Steuber, Napa, CA; David and John Steuber, Winter Springs, FL; Stacey Wientjes, Perham, MN; Tonia Hovelson, Hawley, MN; and Steven Syverson, Rochester, MN; and ten great grandchildren, Karyssa, Cara, and Chase Hovelson; Lucas and Anna Wientjes; Isaiah Syverson; Noah and Dylan Satkanum, Cassandra Wientjes; and Plum.



Verdella is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; parents; a son, David, 1959; and a sister, Esther Thompson.
