Theresa Magdaline Omacht, age 96, of Perham, MN, died on January 16, 2024, at Perham Living.
Theresa was born June 13, 1927, in Perham, the daughter of Anton and Martha (Rosenthal) Palubicki. She treasured her youth in Perham, growing up on a farm with her sisters and attending Perham High School.
After graduation, she bought a bus ticket to Minneapolis to attend the School of Nursing at St. Mary's Hospital. Upon receiving her RN degree, she married Peter Bucholz and they moved to southern California. Here she worked as a nurse, enjoyed many friends, and the Orange County Swap Meet.
In 1962, Theresa's husband died. She raised their son, Dennis, worked full time, and underwent several back surgeries related to a birth defect. She returned to Perham in 1976, married Richard Omacht, and continued her work as a nurse at Tuffy's. Theresa drew on her nursing skills to help family and friends through the decades. Her Catholic faith was very strong, and she lived the gospel as a caregiver to many.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard Omacht; son, Dennis Bucholz; Richard's children, Janice (Peter Anderson) and John (Carmen); grandchildren, James, Will, and Charlie Anderson and Chase, Kyah, and Liam Omacht; sister-in-law, Lois Burkart. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Yvonne (Marcel) Lepage, Mark (Dawn) Winter, Greg (Colleen) Winter, Jean (Brad) Satter, Brian (Nora) Burkart, and Kevin (Laura) Burkart.
Preceding Theresa in death were her parents; first husband, Peter Bucholz; nephew, Michael Winter; and sisters, Eleanor Winter and Deloris (Dee) Conti.
The family would like to thank the team at Perham Living for the exceptional care and attention they have provided.
