Terry L. Helsene, age 33, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Ottertail, MN, died Monday, June 18, 2007, in Enderlin, ND, from injuries sustained in a construction accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, at 11:00 am in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, rural Perham, with Father Arlie Sowada officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Terry Lynn Helsene was born September 8, 1973, in Ottawa, KS, the son of James Helsene and Glenda Mathews Satterfield. He and his family moved to Battle Lake, MN, in 1976 where Terry attended school and graduated high school in 1991. He then attended Wadena Technical College for two years studying Computer Electrical Repair and Maintenance. Terry had been employed on the Jr. Bjorguard farm and then the Breckenridge Beet Plant with friend Ken Grewe before moving back to Kansas for a short time where he lived with his mother and worked construction. Terry returned to Perham living with his father on Rush Lake. While living in the Perham area, he worked at Kenny's Candy where he met Jennifer Day. Together they had a daughter, Grace Ashley Helsene. Terry then went to work for Delser Construction of Fergus Falls, MN, for a few years before taking a job with Hexum Builders of Dent, MN. In the fall of 2006, Terry moved to Fargo, ND, and started working for CS Dubois where he was employed at the time of his accident. Terry loved hunting and fishing, especially those muskies.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Grace Helsene, Perham, MN; father, James Helsene (Kathy Grover), Perham, MN; mother, Glenda (Michael) Satterfield, Fargo, ND; grandmother, Irene Helsene, Perham, MN; brother, Brian (Terra) Lee, Fargo, ND; step sister, Tiffany (Craig) Wigley, Chanhassen, MN; step brothers, Jesse Grover, Ottertail, MN; and Josh Grover, Holland, MI; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
