Ruth Buchholz

Ruth A. Buchholz, age 65, of New York Mills, MN, died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in her home under the care of Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2006, at 2:00 pm in St. John's Lutheran Church, Ottertail, with Reverend Karl Weber and Pastor Timothy Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Ruth was born August 7, 1941, the daughter of Herbert and Margaret (Weisgerber) Stenberg in Frazee, MN, where she also attended school. Ruth was married to Tony Dretsch, Clayton "Vern" Bunnis, and later, on March 7, 1987, to Keith Buchholz. Ruth was employed at Swift Turkey Plant in Frazee and Detroit Lakes, Dynamic Homes and Vern & Lynn's Grocery in Detroit Lakes, Primera Foods of Perham, and the New York Mills School District until she retired in 2006. She was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Keith, New York Mills, MN; three children, Dawn King, Frazee, MN; Sherry Bunnis, Detroit Lakes, MN; and William Bunnis, Rochert, MN; three grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Pickett, Sutherlin, OR; and a brother, Ralph Stenberg, Hacienda Heights, CA.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, a niece, and a grandson.

Memorials are asked to be sent to Lakeland Hospice, Fergus Falls, MN.
