The funeral service for Rose Diederich, 90, Perham, MN will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, rural Perham, with Father Jerry Nordick officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, rural Perham. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Rose died on Sunday, December 18, 2005 in the Perham Memorial Hospital.
Rose Elizabeth Weiglein was born the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Dumelle) Weiglein on February 14, 1915 in New Hampton, IA. There she was raised and attended school. Following, she moved to Chicago, IL where she worked in a bakery. She married Leo John Diederich on September 21, 1936 in New Hampton and there they farmed until 1948. That year they bought Sunrise Resort on Dead Lake near Richville, MN. They sold the resort in 1972 and Rose then worked various jobs before moving near Ottertail, MN. In 1997, she moved to Perham and in November 2000, she entered the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.
Rose enjoyed fishing, feeding birds, and visiting with people. She was a member at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Robert (Joanne), Ottertail, MN; two daughters, Irene Sweere and special friend, John Bleichner, Perham, MN; Jeanette Senn, Wadena, MN; two sisters, Mary Calkins, Charles City, IA; and Helen (Bob) Hild, Evansdale, IA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Weiglein, Ionia, IA; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a great grandson, John DeCock.
