Richard Kotschevar

January 23, 1930 — January 8, 2004

Memorial services for Richard Gene Kotschevar, age 73, of Richville, MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, with Reverend Jerry Nordick officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Richard died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Perham Memorial Hospital.



Richard was born January 23, 1930, in Brainerd, MN, the son of Peter and Ruth (Lempe) Kotschevar. He was raised and attended school in St. Cloud, MN. Richard served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, for two years. After an honorable discharge from the service, he was united in marriage to Patricia Puff in 1954. In 1958, Richard graduated from St. Cloud State University. The couple then moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where Richard taught high school industrial arts and served as the Director of the Northwest Vocational Center until his retirement. After retirement, Richard and Pat made their home on Marion Lake, near Perham, where he served as the President of the Lake Marion Association. While living at the lake, Richard continued to enjoy woodworking, fishing, hunting, and visiting with the neighbors. Richard was also a member of VFW Post 4020 in Perham.



Surviving Richard is his wife, Patricia, of Richville, MN; one son, Mark (Joan), of Rochester, MN; one daughter, Pam (Terry) Liebscher, of Hillsboro, IL; three grandchildren, Stacie Liebscher and Bryan and Chris Kotschevar and one brother, Ron, of St. Cloud, MN.



Preceding Richard in death are his parents.
