Richard Aarness

Richard “Dick” Dean Aarness, 80, of Elbow Lake, MN passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Perham Living, Perham, MN after a brief battle with terminal cancer.

Born to Morgan and Ida (Kingslien) Aarness on February 25, 1940 in Westby, WI. Graduated from Westby High School, Class of 1958. Served in US Army and Army Reserves from July 1958 to June 1964. Dick was a member of American Legion Post #357, Ashby, MN and longtime member of Omaha Chapter of Shriners.

Dick had a long career in transportation sales for various trucking companies in the Upper Midwest before settling in the Minneapolis, MN area.

Dick is survived by his longtime partner Jean O’Fallon; daughter Renee LeBlond (John) of Farmington, MN; grandson John IV (fiancé Claire) of Eagan, MN; numerous nieces and nephews in the WI area; and Sharon (Nustad) Carlton, mother of daughter Renee.

Preceded in death by his parents Morgan and Ida; brothers Clayton and Leon; sister Donna Johnson; and grandson Joey LeBlond.

No formal services will be held at this time. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
