Raymond A. Ziegler

Raymond Arland Ziegler, of Perham, MN, passed away on February 2, 2023 at the age of 91.

He was born on November 14, 1931 in Gorman Township, the son of William and Amanda (Schultz) Ziegler. Raymond was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. He grew up in rural Perham and graduated from Perham High School in 1948.

On December 6, 1953, Raymond was united in marriage to Helen Schamberger. They recently celebrated their 69^th wedding anniversary. From this union, four children were born.

Raymond and Helen farmed in rural Perham. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, passions he enjoyed with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and traveling, especially to Branson and Texas.

Raymond was a long-serving member of the Gorman Town Board and was also a State Fire Warden for many years.

Surviving Raymond is his wife, Helen Ziegler; children, Sheila (Dennis) Vagle, Wanda Drewes, Larry (Lori) Ziegler, all of Perham; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Allen) Rusche and Luella (Norman) Breitenfeldt. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; son-in-law, Dean Drewes; and brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Nadine Ziegler.

Visitation will be held at Schoeneberger Funeral and Cremation Service on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Memorial Cemetery near Perham.
