Pearl Melroe

April 14, 1938 — March 9, 2005

Memorial services for Pearl Loretta Melroe, age 66, of Ottertail, MN will be Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN beginning at 4:00 p. m. Pearl died at MeritCare Health Systems, Fargo, ND, Wednesday, March 9, 2005. Time for family and friends to gather is one hour prior to the service.



Pearl was born the daughter of John and Bernice (Cronk) Ellis, in Hankinson, ND, on April 14, 1938. She graduated from high school in Lisbon, ND. Pearl was united in marriage to Kenneth Shipley. They owned and operated a service station. Following their divorce, Pearl married Clifford Melroe and lived in Gwinner, ND where they owned and operated C. E. Melroe Arabian Horse stables and Stub's West Saloon. Pearl moved to Fargo, ND in 1990 after she and Clifford divorced. She attended cosmetology school, and after graduation, worked for Cost Cutters in Moorhead, MN.

In 1990 she moved to Ottertail Lake, MN where together with her daughter Tracy, owned and operated Trace of Pearls beauty salon.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed flowers, cooking and bingo.



Surviving Pearl are two daughters, Tracy Shipley (fiancAsh, Gary Knutson), of Ottertail, MN and Carrie Shipley-Lopez (Juan) , of Humble, TX; sons, Charles (Stephany) Melroe, of McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, WA and Keith (Olivia) Melroe, of Moorhead, MN; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Edward Ellis (Karen) of Colorado Springs, CO, Roy Ellis (Lory), of Barnett, Missouri and Ervin Ellis of Red Oak, IA and one sister, Viola (Donald) Merchant of Abercrombie, ND



Preceding Pearl in death were her parents and brother, John, Jr.
