Pearl Eckert

December 6, 1912 — August 6, 2004

Funeral services for Pearl Gertrude Eckert, age 91, of Perham, MN, formerly of Dent, MN, will be Wednesday, August 11, 2004, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Dent, MN, with Reverend Roger Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Richville Village Cemetery, Richville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Pearl passed away peacefully at MeritCare Health System in Fargo, ND, Friday, August 6, 2004. Our mother, grandmother, and friend will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.



Pearl was born December 6, 1912, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Sarah Molter. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1931. Pearl married Grover Eckert in August 1942, in South Dakota. She was a lifelong resident of the Dent/Perham Minnesota area. Pearl spent many years living on a farm on scenic Dead Lake, rural Dent, before she moved to Dent where she worked at the Dent Liquor Store. She then worked as a cook at the Hollow Log Restaurant in Dent until her retirement. Pearl enjoyed sewing, gardening, was an avid card player and loved to read. She was a resident of Lakeland Apartments in Perham, a member of the Senior Citizens of Dent and of the Perham-Dent United Methodist Parish.



Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Eckert; daughter, Patricia Besse and three grandchildren, Jerry Lange, Jim Lange and Tim Eckert.



Pearl is lovingly survived by two sons, Clarence (Helen) Hosier, of Grand Rapids, MN and Darold (Karen) Eckert, of Hoyt Lakes, MN; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four step-children; seven step-grandchildren and various cousins, nieces and nephews.
