Paul Loerzel, age 93 of Perham, MN died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Perham Living.
Paul Alois Loerzel was born in Perham on April 18, 1930, the son of Alois and Theresia (Lachowitzer) Loerzel. He was raised on the family farm south of Perham and attended St. Henry's School until being drafted into the Army in 1952. Paul served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. After his return, Paul worked for Jack Nagle Construction as a heavy equipment operator, installing city water and sewer systems throughout North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. He met his wife Mary Ann Kowalski on a job in Minto, ND. In 1964, Paul started the Holiday Stationstore in Perham and built another in Pelican Rapids in 1986. In 1999, he sold the stations to his sons and spent his time with his John Deere tractor collection.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents; his brother Norbert; sisters Loretta Blum, Eleanor Truitt, and Helen Nachreiner; his sons Mark and Rick; and wife Mary Ann.
Surviving Paul are his sons Scott (Bonnie) and Luke (Karlene); six grandchildren and his great-grandchildren; and his brothers Mike and Tom.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the prayer service at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 3 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
