Nora Olmstead
June 5, 1944 — February 11, 2006
Nora Ann (Graff) Olmstead, age 61, of Perham, MN, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the University of Minnesota Hospital after a brief struggle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16 at the First Congregational Church, Fargo, ND, at 2:00 pm with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fargo, in the spring. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a Time of Sharing at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services at the church.
Nora was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on June 5, 1944 the daughter of Edward and Francis (Schekall) Graff. She attended Perham High School and was a graduate of North Dakota State University. She married Jerry Olmstead on June 8, 1967. Nora and Jerry lived in Fargo, ND, until Jerry?s death in 1999. Nora was currently residing at her lake home on Little Pine Lake, Perham.
Nora's amazing gifts of grace and hospitality were apparent to all who knew her. Her unselfish ability to care for others, friends and strangers alike, made those around her feel special and important. Nora's unwavering love and fierce loyalty to her family was a testament to her amazing strength as a wife and mother. Although we are saddened by Nora's death, our life with her was so complete. We were blessed to have had her in our lives.
She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Olmstead Thormodsgard, Prior Lake, MN; and Melissa Olmstead Rademacher, Oxbow, ND; her friends and sons-in-law Mark Thormodsgard and Kent Rademacher; grandchildren, Lauren and Masen Thormodsgard, Rayonna, Kristen, Brandon, and Lyndon Rademacher. She is also survived by her friend and sister at heart, Susie Kindlund.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry.
