Funeral services for Murel LeRoy Myers, age 63, of Richville, MN, will be at the United Methodist Church in Richville, Monday , December 6, 2004, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Rod Tornquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Richville Village Cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2004, as well as on hour prior to the funeral at the church. Murel died Thursday, December 2, 2004, at his home.
Murel was born January 28, 1941, the son of Glenn C. and Irene (Wilkinson) Myers, in Sioux City, Iowa. The family moved to Richville in 1949. Murel was united in marriage to Donna Hurd, July 17, 1976, in Winner, SD. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved to socialize with everyone and always good for a laugh. Murel drove truck for Fossee Transport of Rothsay, MN. He was also the Mayor of Richville.
Murel leaves to mourn his loving wife, Donna, of Richville; his darling children, daughter, Joann and son, Glenn, both of Richville, MN; one sister, Virginia (Marvin) Vilhauer, of South Dakota and many relatives and friends to numerous to mention. Murel was well-liked by many.
Preceding Murel in death is his father, Glenn, in October 1961, his mother Irene, in January 2004; step-mother, Dorothy Krueger and a half-brother, Charles, in October 1991.
