Michelle Olivia Trautman, age 54 of Perham, MN went home to be with our heavenly father Wednesday, February 26, 2020 after a courageous battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. She was born September 8, 1965 to Mickey Cipolla and Sharron Thornton in Fresno, CA. She grew up in Madera, CA where she attended Sierra High School until her senior year when she transferred to Madera High School. This is where she met the love of her life, Clayton. The two were united in marriage April 20, 1985. In their almost 35 years of marriage they were blessed with three children, Bre, her husband Doug Nielsen, Nicci, her husband Brandon Menze, and Josh Trautman and his wife Kara. On February 23, 2020 their newest blessing, Mads Douglas Nielsen came into the world. He got to spend one special day with his Grammy who loves him very much.
In July of 2000, Clayton and Michelle decided to move from California to Perham in search of a slower paced life to raise their children. They made their home and many great friendships in the last 19 years. Michelle worked at United Community Bank from October of 2000 until November of 2019 when her ALS made it too difficult to work anymore.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold and Roberta Beebe and Francis and Ross Cipolla; her grandfather Russell Thornton; sister-in-law Dorene Cipolla; nephew Malachi Cipolla; and father-in-law Clarence Trautman.
She leaves behind her loving husband; her three amazing children; her beautiful grandson; along with her mother Sharron and step-father Mitch Thornton; her father Mickey and step-mother Sue Cipolla; grandmother Dorothy Thornton; brother Charles and sister-in-law Shondra Cipolla; Clayton’s loving family; many nephews, nieces, and wonderful friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Michelle’s name to the ALS Association, who provided so much to Michelle and her family.
Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 on Saturday, February 29 at New Creation Lutheran Church in Perham. Burial will be in the Perham City Cemetery.
