Michael J. Richter, age 57, of Perham, MN, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at the Perham Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 2007, beginning at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 16, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Michael James Richter was born April 1, 1950, in Willmar, MN, the son of Robert and Betty (Erickson) Richter. After graduating from Perham High School, Perham, MN, in 1968 Mike attended Wadena Technical College, Wadena, MN, and served in the US Army in Vietnam. On December 13, 1975, he was united in marriage to Judy Sweere at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, MN, and together they had three children. He was employed at Tuffy's in Perham from 1975 until the time of his death as a forklift operator. Mike loved hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He was also a life time member of the Perham VFW Post 4020, and a member of Catholic Aid and the North American Hunting Club.
Mike is survived by his wife, Judy, Perham, MN; three sons, Jason Richter, San Diego, CA; Justin and Matthew Richter, both of Perham, MN; his father, Robert Richter, Perham, MN; a brother, Ken (Linda) Richter, Perham, MN; three grandchildren, Anaiah, Michael, and Ryan; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mike in death is his mother, Betty.
