Merle Walk

Funeral services for Merle Edward Walk, age 67, of Perham, MN, will be Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham with Pastor Rod Tornquist officiating. Burial will follow in the Perham Village Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, on Friday, January 9, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Merle died January 6, 2004 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
Merle was born in Pine Lake Township, rural Perham, MN, the son of Robert and Ida (Wiese) Walk, on February 15, 1936. He attended and graduated from Perham High School in 1955. Following graduation, Merle entered the U.S. Army and served in France. On August 10, 1968, Merle was united in marriage to Elaine Kressin. He was employed by Sorem Auto Parts in Perham for many years after which, he worked with the City of Perham Public Works Department in maintenance. Merle loved music and working in his garage. He was always fixing something for someone.
Surviving Merle is one son, Rick, of Perham, MN; half-brother, Alfred ?Sonny? (Carolyn) Alberts, of Ottertail, MN; brothers, Marvin (Marie) , of Ottertail, MN and Melbourne (Mary) Walk, of Ogema, MN; sisters, Myrtle (Edgar) Hinz, of Perham, MN and Marcella (Milton) Lawson, of Wadena, MN and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Merle in death are his parents and one son, Randy.
