Melba Jean Kingcade, age 73 of Deer Creek, Minnesota died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at Northwoods Assembly in Perham, Minnesota with Pastor Kurt Rothwell officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will take place in the Perham Village Cemetery.
Melba was born on June 7, 1939 the daughter of Lester and Anna Reeves in North Bend, Washington. Melba graduated high school from Mt. Si High School in Snoqualmie, Washington. On December 20, 1961 Melba was united in marriage to Jack Kingcade. Music was Melba's life. She played piano and keyboard and loved to sing. Melba was a people person, always putting others before her. She loved to spend time with her family, was very active in church and loved flowers. Melba worked most of her life as a nurse's aid in home healthcare for the disabled. She had resided in Deer Creek since 2000.
Surviving Melba are her children, Carolyn (Tom) Trossen of Deer Creek, Minnesota, Cheryl Kingcade of Deer Creek, Minnesota, Carla (Mel) Moses of Washington, Kathy Kingcade of Washington, Dennis (Robyn) Kingcade of Washington, and Robert (Vanita) Kingcade of Washington; and one brother, Lester (Susan) Reeves of Bellingham, Washington.
Preceding Melba in death are her parents; and husband Jack in 2004.
