Maxine Sieling

Maxine Sieling, age 85, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, under the care of AccentCare Hospice in Northern Pines Memory Care in Pine City, MN. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 on Friday, March 25 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, MN. Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 on Saturday, March 26 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN. Pastor Ed Borchardt will officiate. The burial will take place at a later date in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Dent, MN.

Maxine Ida Holst was born October 9, 1936, in Saint Paul, MN, the daughter of Fred and Leona (Krause) Holst. She graduated from Johnson High School and on August 27, 1955, she was united in marriage to Louis A. Sieling. The couple moved to Perham and together they ran a dairy farm. In 1980, they sold their farm and moved to Little McDonald Lake. Maxine then started working at Perham Memorial Hospital. She worked there for over 20 years until her retirement.

Maxine enjoyed quilting, baking, playing cards, traveling, and being active in her church. She was known for her distinctive laugh along with a good knee-slap. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids and her favorite years were spent living at the lake.

Surviving Maxine is her daughter Lenore (Doug) Becker; her sons Wayne (Cindy), Louis E. (LaDonna), and David (Christine); her grandchildren Sarah, David, Eric, Justin, Amber, Ryan, Brent, and Nathan; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Maxine in death were her parents; her husband Louis in 2010; her brother Eugene Holst; and her daughter-in-law Kris Sieling.
