Mary Thomas

Mary Margaret ( Murray ) Thomas, age 67, of Perham , MN , died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home from cancer.


Mary was born June 13, 1941 , in Fargo , ND , and graduated from Montpelier High School . She married George L. Thomas November 23, 1963 . They made their home in Perham , MN , and raised four children.



Mary was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Perham Senior Citizens Community Center, the St. Henry’s funeral committee, and the Perham Nursing Home gift shop. Mary worked for Barrel O’ Fun and East Otter Tail Phone Company. At the age of 63, she retired. In her free time, Mary enjoyed time with family and friends, gardening, crafting and travel adventures near and far. She never forgot a holiday or special occasion and personalized them with her hand-made cards!



Mary is survived by her son, Jay and wife Maxine (Thompson); and daughters, Jill Miyamoto and husband Trevor; Kelly Larson and husband Troy; and Megan Vorgert and husband Tim; her mother, Angela (Stott) Brennan; brother, James Murray; sister, Karen Hitt; brother, Kevin Connery and sister, Kimberly Skarr; 5 grand children, Chelsey Steinlicht and husband Dan, Samantha Thomas, Ryan Larson, Alex Larson, and Kenna Vorgert; plus two great-granddaughters, Ellie & Lauren Steinlicht. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.



Mary is preceded in death by her husband George; her father, James Murray; and her sister, Debra Lockwood.
