Mary Jane Seifert

Mary Jane Seifert, age 94 of Perham, MN, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Perham Living.

She was born on March 1, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN to Clemens and Elizabeth (Martin) Ruffcorn. Mary Jane attended kindergarten through eighth grade at the Baker School in St. Paul, MN and high school at Murray High School, graduating in 1947. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in St. Paul as a long-distance operator for three years.

On August 12, 1950, Mary Jane married Fay Lee Botts at St. Anthony Park Methodist Church in St. Paul. The couple then spent 10 years living on dairy farm near Fergus Falls, raising their four daughters there. In 1960 the family moved to St. James, MN and Mary Jane worked for the Shoppers Guide doing lay-out work until 1974, when they relocated to Perham. Mary Jane began working for the Perham Enterprise Bulletin in 1976 and retired in 1992. Fay passed away on April 9, 1993.

Mary Jane was united in marriage to Donald W. Seifert on October 22, 1994 at Dent United Methodist Church in Dent, MN. The couple enjoyed their time on the lake and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving Mary Jane are her children, Vickie (Brian) Staley, Cindy (Rex) Leinen, and Joyce Botts; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Randy, Michael, and Rebecca; and four step grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husbands, Fay Botts and Donald Seifert; daughter, Elaine Beller; and brother, Dale Ruffcorn Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dent.
