Funeral services for Mary C. Mischke, age 87, of Perham, MN, will be Saturday, June 12, 2004, at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2004, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.. Mary died at the Perham Memorial Hospital, June 9, 2004. She had family with her throughout the day.
Mary Christine Warner was born April 20, 1917 to William and Susie (Schumm) Warner in Butler Township, MN. Mary and her brothers John, George, Joe, & William Jr. attended Butler Township School through the eighth grade.
Mary moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1941. When she first moved to Detroit, Mary worked at a restaurant before becoming employed at the Ford Plant where she worked as a riveter and inspector on B52 bombers.
Mary came home to Butler to marry Lester B. Mischke on July 31, 1945. The couple then returned to Detroit to work until their eldest son, Donald was born in August of 1946. At that time, they returned to Butler to farm. In 1948, they purchased the Webb Station in New York Mills which they owned and operated until Lester's death in 1979. Mary and Lester were active members of the Holy Cross Parish in Butler throughout these years. Mary and Lester had two other sons, Roger (1953) and Larry (1956).
In the fall of 1979 Mary moved to Perham where she continued to enjoy quilting, crocheting, gardening, doing puzzles, playing cards, attending church activities and visiting with family and friends.
Mary is survived by Sons, Donald (Kathleen) of St. Michael, MN, Roger (Lynn) of St. Joseph, MN, and Larry (Jean) of Clinton, MN; Grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Mark, Kristi, and Kylie and Great-Granddaughters, Megan, Madison, Sydney and Alexis.
Preceding Mary in death is her husband, Lester and her parents.
