Marvin Schmidt

Marvin Schmidt went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the age of 79. He was residing at the Elim Nursing Home End of Life Unit in Fargo, ND under the care of Red River Valley Hospice. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Perham, MN. Burial will be in the Perham Village Cemetery.

Marvin was born June 25, 1939 in Green Isle, MN. His family moved to Perham where Marv attended school and graduated from Perham High School in 1958. On December 10, 1971, Marvin married Beverly “Bev” Lindemann in Watertown, SD. They were married for 47 years. Marvin worked as an auto mechanic and owned his own repair business for several years. He restored three Corvairs to perfection which his children and grandchildren now enjoy.

Marvin is survived by his wife Beverly; his three sons Greg (Jamie) Schmidt, Moorhead, MN, David (Becky) Schmidt of Duncan, OK and Michael (Vickie) Schmidt of Richardson, TX; one daughter Teresa (Jeff) Cambra of San Jose, CA; one step-daughter Brenda (Mark) Evenson of Hallock, MN; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law Ray Masters.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bernice Schmidt, his older brother, Bernard Schmidt and his sister Lila Masters.
