The Mass of Christian Burial for Marlys Jane Hennagir, 67, Henning, MN will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. in St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, MN with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Union Cemetery, rural Henning. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:15 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham. Marlys died Saturday, September 3, 2005 in her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Marlys "Moe" Jane Bellmore was born the daughter of William and Katherine (Neppl) Bellmore on July 20, 1938 in Breckenridge, MN. As a child, she moved with her family to Henning, MN and there she was raised and graduated from Henning High School. She then moved to Minneapolis, MN and worked for the First National Bank and then she was employed by IDS Financial Services where she worked for 26 years. She was united in marriage to Lenzie Hennagir on Nov. 7, 1959, in St. Edwards Catholic Church in Henning. They made their home in Richfield, MN and following their retirement in 1997, they moved to East Battle Lake, near Henning.
She enjoyed playing her bass guitar, making music, fishing, doing crafts, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her little white poodle, Angie.
Marlys is survived by her husband, Lenzie of Henning; a son, Tim (Michele Violet) Hennagir, St. Joseph, MN; two daughters, Therese (John) Leckas, Richfield, MN; Jenifer (Craig) Thornton, Burnsville, MN; 7 grandchildren, Vas, Foti, and Gianni Leckas, Cameron and Jordyn Thornton, Seth and Hollie Hennagir. She is also survived by one great grandson, Gianni. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lyle; and a sister, Jeanette Leitch.
Memorials are preferred to Family Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Minneapolis or to St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, MN in memory of Marlys J. Hennagir.
