Marlin Gale Cole, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022 at Perham Living with his granddaughter, Becky beside him.
Marlin was born on October 1, 1933 to Alfred and Verda Cole in Frazee. He graduated from Frazee High School in 1951. Marlin served in the Navy for two years and married Marilyn Weickert on December 18, 1954. Marlin had several jobs early in his life, including truck driver. He later worked at Tuffy’s, and retired as a supervisor. His post-retirement job was driving school bus, and he loved his relationships with the children.
Marlin was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He is survived by his son, Jeff (Joan) of Andover, MN; granddaughter, Becky (Justin) Ahlstrom of Andover; grandson, Brad (Kayla) of Dayton, MN; as well as great grandchildren, Carly, Eli, Mason, Brooks, and Ava. He is also survived by brother, Jim (Carolyn) Cole of Brainerd; and special Perham friends, Linda Necas, Joe Saenger, and Kent Zitzow. Marlin is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Bill.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Visitation will be one hour prior the the service. Private Interment at St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery. If you can attend and are wondering what to wear, Marlin would have suggested your favorite Vikings or Gophers sweatshirt. No flowers please…gifts will be used to buy Christmas treats for St. Henry’s schoolchildren.
