Marilyn Margaret Cole, age 72, of Perham, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at MeritCare Health Systems, Fargo, ND, with her family beside her. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 14, at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Marilyn was born November 16, 1934, in Perham, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Margaret (Fletcher) Weickert. She attended St. Henry's Parochial School and graduated from Perham High School in 1952. Marilyn then attended Glenwood Hills for training in the medical field where she secured her first full-time employment. On December 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Marlin Cole. Marilyn had several jobs throughout her life, including working for the City of Perham, Midland Co-op, F.P.A., and Dr. Omacht. In recent years, she enjoyed organizing multiple class reunions. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a lifelong member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Marlin, Perham, MN; son, Jeff (Joan) Cole, Andover, MN; two grandchildren, Becky (Justin) Ahlstrom, Minneapolis, MN; and Brad Cole, Portland, OR; two brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Weickert; and Laurel Weickert; and a sister, Patty Kunza.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jim and John Weickert.
