Lucille Schmitz

Lucille Johanna (Rosenthal) Schmitz, age 97, of Perham, MN went home to the Lord on December 7, 2019.  Lucille was a beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She always prayed for her family and was a faithful lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers.

Lucille was an avid quilter and tried to make sure each one in her family had a quilt at one point in time.  Her family will always remember her baking their various favorites from homemade bread to cookies and pies.  Family card playing was always a favorite pastime in her house.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; Carl and Mary (Perszyk) Rosenthal; all her siblings; her husband Rupert; son David; grandson Jacob; great-grandson Bentley; and son-in-law Eugene.  She is survived by her children Marilyn (Greg) Troska, Gerri (Dennis) Westly, Tom (Phyllis) Schmitz, Richard (Linda) Schmitz, Susan (Michael) Schmelz, Paulette Klein, Christine (Paul) King, Michael (Staci) Schmitz and Patricia (Ron) Carrlson; daughter-in-law Wendy Schmitz; adopted daughter Gail (Hendrickx) Cabrillo; godsons Robert Hendrickx and Jerry Rosenthal; sister-in-law Bernice Rosenthal; brother-in-law Howard Jones; twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 and parish prayers at 6:15 on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham.  Visitation will continue from 12:30-1:30 p.m. followed by the memorial Mass at 1:30 on Friday, December 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN.
