The funeral service for Loretta A. Kremer, 76, Perham, MN will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. in St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham with Father David Rieder officiating. Burial will be held in St. Henry?s Catholic Cemetery, Perham. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. in the Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham. She died on Saturday, August 21, 2004 in her home under the care of hospice.
Loretta Angeline Pollard was born the daughter of George and Theresia (Meyer) Pollard on November 22, 1927 in Foley, Minnesota. She was raised on the farm and attended school graduating from Foley High School. She then attended St. Cloud Beauty School and worked with her older sister who owned a hair salon in Watkins, MN. Loretta then worked as a waitress at the OK CafAsh in St. Cloud. She was united in marriage to Erwin Kremer on November 20, 1951 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church near Foley. They made their home in St Cloud, Park Rapids and Wadena, MN, working in the propane business. They moved to Perham and here they owned and operated Kremer Bottle Gas. They sold their business in 1976. They then bought and remodeled homes turning them into apartments in the Perham area. They also owned and operated Erv's Dairy Bar on Main Street in Perham and, for ten years, the Elm Haven Resort on Rush Lake, rural Perham, MN. He died in October of 2000.
Loretta loved to sew, bake pies and cookies. She loved the outdoors and bird watching. Loretta enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and going to dances with her husband. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she would pray the Rosary daily thinking of her 10 children while reciting the ten Hail Mary's.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth, of Midlothian, TX, Robert (Rosa), of Ovilla, TX, James (Diane) of Moscow, ID; seven daughters, Teresa (Allen) Ruther of Dent, MN, Kathy (Robert) Krasky of Minneapolis, MN, Judy (Kelly) Harkins of Moscow, ID, Diane (Darrell) Mulch of Portland, OR, Joyce (Mike) Estlick of Richville, MN, Janet (Greg) Burden of Portland, OR, and Angela (Jason Franklin) Kremer of Portland, OR; 18 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Wally of Foley, MN, Ray of Sauk Rapids, MN, and two sisters, Irene (Sy) Zormeier, of Foley, MN and Leona Pollard, of St. Cloud, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and a sister.
