Lois Rice

Lois L. (Wahlstrom) Rice, age 102 of Perham, MN, was received into her Lord’s arms on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Elk Ridge Assisted Living in Perham.

Lois was born on October 14, 1918 in Brandon, South Dakota to Henry and Meta (Beottcher) Wahlstrom. On November 7, 1937, Lois married Hugh Rice and they moved to the family farm. Lois helped with farm work while raising their five children; Lee, Larry, Duane, Bruce and Susan. Lois loved to cook and bake while always making sure to include the children and grandchildren in assembling the recipes.  She also worked at Norbest Turkey’s in Pelican Rapids for 20 years.

Preceding Lois in death are her husband Hugh, sons Duane and Bruce.  She is survived by her children Lee, Larry and Susan; grandchildren Pam, Shawna, Jeff, Justen, Butch (Scott), Lisa, Aron and Megan; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Perham.
