Linette Grismer

On September 29, 2021, Linette Beverly (Atkinson) Grismer, age 90, passed away surrounded by her family at Perham Living in Perham, MN.

Linette was born on October 10, 1930 to LeRoy Clayton Atkinson and Lauretta (Pruess) Atkinson. On August 1, 1953 she married the love of her life, Paul Grismer. In their 68 years of marriage, they raised seven children: Susan, Evonne, Lee, Larry, Mary, Angela, and Jim.

Linette was raised in Perham, attending both grade school and high school, graduating with the class of 1949. After high school she went on be become an LPN graduating from Miller Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN. She spent her career as an LPN working at St. James Hospital and Perham Memorial Hospital. She was Director of Nursing for the Perham Nursing Home and worked at the Perham clinic. She retired in 1993. After retirement, she enjoyed years of volunteering at the history museum and ITOW in Perham as well as caring for others in her community.

We are all so thankful for her and the love shared in all our lives. We are so proud of who she was and how she greatly impacted everyone through the love of our Lord and the Catholic Church. Through the good and the bad, Mom was the glue that held us all together. She will be profoundly missed by all.

Linette is survived by her husband Paul; six children: Susan (Lee Brown) of Pompano Beach, FL, Evonne (Barry Oberg) of Glyndon, MN, Lee (Lori) of Perham, Larry of Perham, Angela of Ventura, CA, and James of Plymouth, MN; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: LeRoy (Betty) Atkinson and Lowell (Carol) Atkinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Linette in death were her parents; daughter Mary Aitken; and sons-in-law John Ogroske and Jeff Lopez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6 from 4-7 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, October 7 from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 2:00 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham.
