Linda Louise "Smith" Koelln, age 56, of Perham, MN, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Perham Memorial Hospital and Homes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Perham, Tuesday, April 5, 2005, beginning at 11 a.m., with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. There will be a time of gathering for family and friends at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Monday, April 4, 2005, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Linda was born October 13, 1948, in Perham, MN, the daughter of Percy and Bernadine (Boedigheimer) Smith. She attended school in Perham and also in New York Mills, MN. On September 2, 1977, Linda was left permanently disabled after an automobile accident. She attended Sister Kenny's Institute for rehabilitation and was able to live independently for many years.
Linda was a ray of sunshine and was loved by all who knew her. She loved jigsaw puzzles, reading, bird watching and watching old westerns and wrestling on T.V.
Surviving Linda is one brother, Steve and his wife, DeeDee, of Perham, MN and their three daughters, Courtney, Cassandra and Katrina; two sisters, Judy and her husband, Alan Frank, of Fergus Falls, MN and their three children, Troy, Brett and Nicole and Shelly and her husband, Joe Stafki, of Dawson, MN, and their three children, Michelle, David and Hannah. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Evie Smith, of Dawson, MN and her two sons, Scott and Cory.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents and one brother, Jeff.
