Lila Dorothy (Schmidt) Masters passed away at Sanford Medical Center on November 1, 2013 at the age of 77.
Lila is predeceased by her mother, Bernice (Gohlke) Schmidt; her father, Frank Schmidt; and her brother, Bernard Schmidt.
Surviving Lila is her loving husband of 44 years, Manuel Ray Masters. They were married in Hayward, CA on July 11, 1969.
Lila is lovingly remembered by her son, Duane Middleton with his wife, Hannah of Rochert, MN; her daughter, Shari Lowery with her husband, Mike of Brentwood, CA; grandchildren, Jessica Middleton and Jason Middleton with his wife, Kalee; grandchildren, Indikah, Izaiah, Zion, Madison and Jace; and brother, Marvin Schmidt with his wife Beverly of Perham, MN.
Lila was born in Green Isle, MN on August 2, 1936. She was raised in Perham, MN and graduated from Castlemont High School, Oakland, CA in 1955.
Lila was active in the Lions Club prior to becoming ill where she won the awards of Melvin Jones Fellow Award, Helen Keller Sight Award, Diabetes Foundation Dream Catcher Award, Leader Dog Tribute Award, and Presidents Appreciation Award. Lila was also a member of the Red Hats. While she was in the Perham Living nursing home she enjoyed making cards and playing Bingo.
She enjoyed vacationing with her husband and children. Two of the most memorable vacations were an Alaskan Cruise and Walt Disney World.
