Lester William Rader, age 85, of Perham, MN, died Thursday, July 7, 2005. Funeral services will be Monday, July 11, 2005, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Perham, with Reverend Del Stoh officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Lester was born September 24, 1919 in Spruce Grove Township, MN to William and Augusta (Gudekunst) Rader. On April 16, 1945 he married Erna Matz at St. John's Lutheran Church, Corliss Township, MN. They farmed until 1977 in Butler Township at which time they built a house on Little McDonald Lake and lived there for 21 years. In 1998 they moved into Briarwood in Perham. Lester was a clerk in Butler Township for 18 years and active in St. Paul's Lutheran Church as an elder. He loved hunting and fishing.
Surviving Lester are his wife, Erna; two sisters, Myrtle Peterson, New York Mills, MN; Fern Anderson, Perham, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lester in death are his parents.
