Leslie E. Quiram, Sr., of New York Mills, MN, was received in the arms of our Lord early Monday, May 14, 2007, at the young age of 65 years. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2007, beginning at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Leslie Edward Quiram, Sr. on May 4, 1942 to Carl and Gladys Hazel (Lillis) Quiram. He grew up and attended school in the Richville, MN, and Perham, MN, area. Les worked in the Dakota area before entering the US Army, serving from June 1961 to June 1964. After leaving the military he worked at Flour City and VANT Transfer in Minneapolis, MN. On July 2, 1966 he married JuliAnne Spiczka at Ascension Church in Minneapolis and until 1983 they lived in Minneapolis, then moving to the New York Mills-Perham area. Les enjoyed gardening, raising exotic birds, auction sales, fishing, woodworking, watching pro wrestling on TV, and was an avid Nascar fan. He was very family oriented.
Les is survived by his wife, Julie of 40 years; sons, Leslie (Lori) Quiram; and Brian Quiram, both of New York Mills, MN; brothers, Vernon (Diane) Quiram, Frazee, MN; Donald Quiram, Minneapolis, MN; Ray (Florence) Quiram, Berlin, NH; William "Bill" (Jean) Quiram, Ottertail, MN; and Larry (Yvonne) Quiram, Circle Pines, MN; sisters, Carlys Quiram, Richville, MN; LaVonne (Joesph) Heifert, Henning, MN; JoAnne (Thom) Murphy, St. Michael, MN; Faye (Bill) Luedtke, Fergus Falls, MN; and Kathy Anderson, Perham, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister, Janet Dorsch.
