Kristine "Kris" Louise (Frank) Knuttila, 53, of Briarwood, ND, formerly of Perham, MN, died on April 12, 2005, at MeritCare South Campus in Fargo, ND, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham on Monday, April 18, 2005 beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Peter Hughes officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 17, 2005 with a prayer service at 7:00 pm.
Kristine was born in Perham, MN, February 25, 1952 to John and Lucille Frank. She graduated from Perham High School in 1970. Kris continued her studies at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and finished in Fergus Falls, MN. Kristine married Gery Knuttila October 21, 1972 in Dent, MN. Kris worked as a Respiratory Therapy Technician at Perham Memorial Hospital until moving to Fargo, ND. She was employed by the Veterans Administration for over 20 years. Along with her husband, Gery, they own and operate Prairie Rose Data Products in Fargo. Kristine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends on Star Lake and Little Toad Lake and she loved shopping for antiques with her sisters. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Kristine was an avid sports fan. She had a strong personality with a huge heart and was a no-nonsense person. Kristine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was gracious to no limit and was able to spend a lot of quality time with her family.
Kristine is survived by her husband, Gery Knuttila; her son, Jeremy Knuttila; her daughters, Melissa Knuttila; and Lesley Fredrickson (Craig) all of Fargo, ND; her mother, Lucille Frank of Perham, MN; her brothers, John M. Frank (Kathy) of Shasta Lake, CA; Robert Frank (Dona) of Redding, CA; her sisters, Joyce Weyker (Howard) of Sebastapol, CA; Mary duCharme (Pierre) of Dent, MN; Karen Gordon of Crescent City, CA; Beth Weil (Bill) of Snellville, GA; and Stephanie Jane Frank of Perham, MN. Also surviving Kris are her 25 nieces and nephews, her in-laws Roland and Luella Knuttila of Perham, MN; Marcia Knuttila of Thief River Falls, MN; Steve and Joanne Knuttila of Detroit Lakes, MN; Glenn Knuttila of St. Paul, MN; Lynee Soto of Thousand Oaks, CA; and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Paige Fredrickson.
Kristine was preceded in death by her father John S Frank; brother, Richard Frank; nephew, John Frank; her grandparents and two brothers-in-law, Jeff Knuttila and Jon Knuttila.
