Joyce F. Collins, age 58, of Perham, MN, died Friday, August 10, 2007, at the Golden Living Nursing Home, Henning, MN, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 11:00 am, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, with Reverend Larry Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Joyce Faye Wendt was born March 23, 1949, in Sauk Centre, MN, the daughter of Raymond and Erna (Peterson) Wendt. After a few moves, she grew up in the Perham and Dent area attending Perham High School. On August 20, 1966, she was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" L. Collins. They made their first home in Dent and later moved into Perham. Bob died in May 2005. Together they had four children. Joyce worked in area restaurants and bars until retiring in 2000. She enjoyed spending time with family and at the lake getting some sun.
Joyce is survived by her four children, Glen (Sue) Collins, Fargo, ND; Rhonda (Pat) Vareberg, Dent, MN; Greg Collins, Wyoming, MN; and Justin Collins, Perham, MN; two grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon; her mother, Erna Wendt, Dent, MN; brothers, Richard Wendt, Dent, MN; and Robert Wendt, Battle Lake, MN; sisters, Jean Hahn, Staples, MN; Karen (Jake) Beringer, Ellendale, ND; and Linda (Dennis) Reich, Fergus Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Barb (Roger) Nelson, Battle Lake, MN; Betty Obright, Dent, MN; and Bonnie (Ronnie) Norgren, Dalton, MN; and brother-in-law, Bruce (Bev) Collins, Sarasota, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joyce in death is her father; husband, Robert; father and mother-in-law; brother-in-law; and one infant niece.
