Josephine B. Douglass, age 90, Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Perham, MN, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at Innovis Health in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be Friday, June 10, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham from 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Josephine was born February 23, 1915, the daughter of Joseph and Bolewsawa (Kurowski) Bucholz in Perham, MN. On September 28, 1937 she married George Myron Douglass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Perham. Together they farmed in the Pine Lake Township for many years and were beekeepers. Josephine also worked for a while at the turkey plant in Pelican Rapids, MN. She loved gardening and canning and was self-sufficient until the time of her death.
Josephine is survived by one son, Allan, Farmington, MN; one daughter, Sylvia Sprouls, Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Florian; two sisters, Balbina Schwientek and Mary Anna Rutten; and 2 grandchildren.
