John Williams

July 4, 1922 — August 3, 2013

John O. "Busty" Williams age 91 of Perham, MN died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 beginning at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Perham with Pastor Jerry Bass officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in the Perham Village Cemetery.

John was born on July 4, 1922 the son of Brown and Minnie (Johnson) Williams in Lidgerwood, ND. He graduated high school from Lidgerwood, ND. While in school, John wore a pair of Buster Brown shoes so his teacher nicknamed him "Busty". After high school, John bought his family farm and worked the farm until 1957. He then moved to West Fargo, ND and began working for Armour and Company as a cattle buyer. He worked there until it closed. John then started working at the West Fargo Stockyard (Farmers Union Marketing) where he was promoted to the head of the cattle department in a short period of time and retired in 1984. John also was involved in local politics and was elected 5 times to the West Fargo City Commission. John married Ardis Mae Hansen Trenbeath in 1961. They lived in West Fargo, ND until 1984, and then moved to their lake home on Big Pine Lake in Perham, MN. His hobbies included golfing and sports in general.

Surviving John is his son, Daniel (Melissa) Williams; step-sons, Steve (Marsha) Trenbeath, Dr. Mike (Delia) Trenbeath, Jayson Trenbeath, and Tim (Nancy) Trenbeath; step-daughter, Joni Trenbeath; 5 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding John in death are his parents, his wife, Ardis; 2 brothers, Delos and Homer; and 3 sisters, Ayda, Ramona and Delores.
