JoAnne Darco

JoAnne Darco, age 83 of Dent, MN died on January 20, 2021 in Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Johanna Marie Loerzel was born June 29, 1937 in Perham, MN to Henry and Irene (Schmidt) Loerzel. On November 26, 1954 she married Daniel “Jay” Darco II. Together they farmed and later had Jay’s Auto Repair and Dent Oil while raising their three sons.

JoAnne enjoyed gardening and feeding the many birds in her yard. You would normally find her in the yard, tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She had the most beautiful yard in Dent!

JoAnne is survived by her two sons Daniel (Jan) H. Darco III and David “Beaver” Darco; her four grandchildren Heather (David) Darco-Carlson, Shannon Darco, Dustyn Darco, and Derek Darco; her seven great-grandchildren Taylee, Savannah, Madison, Gracie Jo, Brylee, Karsyn, and Serenity; her brother Kenneth Loerzel; and her beloved cat Orangie.

Preceding JoAnne in death were her husband Jay; her son Dean Darco; and her siblings LeRoy “Fritz” Loerzel, Donald Loerzel, Marilyn Ross, and Ruth Palubicki.
