Janet "the fun one" Huber, was born in Albert Lea, MN, to Bernard and Doris (Cooper) Pleiss on December 2, 1936, she was 20 minutes younger than her twin sister, Joy. Always one of the kids, she taught us so much: how to laugh, love and play. She never played to win because who remembered who won anyway? She helped everyone and belonged to every team. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN; in 1958 she received her nursing degree signed by Dr. Charles Mayo. On June 20, 1959, she was united in marriage to Darrell Huber. In 1974, Jan, Darrell, and family moved to the Perham area. Jan worked all of her adult life as a registered nurse, the last fifteen years as the school nurse in Frazee. Always surrounded by kids, she laughed, loved, and nurtured each one that walked through her door. Then inspired by her grandchildren, SASAJOKA, a hand-crafted children's clothing store, was founded in 1992 and continued until her retirement.
Janet is survived by her husband, Darrell, Perham, MN; son, Mark (Cyndy) Huber, Perham, MN; daughters, Dana Huber, Minneapolis, MN; and Julie Huber, West Palm Beach, FL; five beautiful grandchildren, Sara and Joey Greenberg, and Sam, Kaylan, and John Huber; three sisters, Lois (Robert) Schwinefus, Dorothy Herman, and twin, Joyce (Fred) Kinney; one brother, Robert Pleiss; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 39 nieces and nephews; and 44 great nieces and nephews.
We will all miss going to Jenny's to laugh, play, and raid the candy drawer.
