James "Jim" L. Wallenberg

James "Jim" L. Wallenberg, age 72 of Clitherall, MN, died Monday, January 30, 2023.

Jim was born to Bud and Arvilla (Jahnke) Wallenberg on March 21, 1950 at Thiel Hospital in Bertha, MN. Jim was baptized April 16, 1950 and confirmed in 1968 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bertha. He graduated from Bertha High School, where he met Yvonne Zutter. They were united in marriage in 1968 and together had two children, Jamie and Jennifer. Yvonne passed away in 1976.

Even as a little boy growing up on the farm, Jim would tell his parents, “I’m going to be a truck driver one day.” Jim began his long truck driving career proudly, driving over five million miles without an accident. Jim drove for Peterson & Biddick, Daggett, Evenson, and Transport Designs, earning many honorable awards for professional trucking events.

On November 9, 2010, Jim married Sherry Sydow, and together they owned and operated Wallenberg Trucking. Jim’s dream finally came true!

Preceding Jim in death are his parents, Bud and Arvilla Wallenberg; sister, Jean Kupfer; brother-in-law, Dale Erks; mother and father-in-law, Roger and Elaine Sydow; and sister-in-law, Michelle Sydow.

He will always be remembered by his devoted wife, Sherry; son, Jamie (Mary Jo) Wallenberg of Goodland, MN; daughter, Jennifer (Roger) Nickolite of Clitherall; stepsons, Aric and Kyle Fosse of Clitherall; grandsons, Mitchell Peterson and Taylor Wallenberg; granddaughter, Jessie Hinkle; great grandchildren, Oliver, Ember, Greyson, and Riley; sisters, Carol Erks of Circle Pines, MN and Susan (Dick) Wirta of Wadena, MN; brother, David Wallenberg of Thief River Falls, MN; brother-in-law, Duane Kupfer; many nieces, nephews, friends; and furry companions, McGoo and Barney.

Jim was a man of his word, generous with others, and a hard worker. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with time for remembrances at 12:00 p.m. at Schoeneberger Funeral and Cremation Service in Perham. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Girard Union Cemetery in Henning.
