Irma Martinson

Funeral services for Irma M. Martinson, age 82, of Perham, MN, will be Saturday, June 26, 2004, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham, with Reverend Henry Buchholz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2004, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Irma died at her home, under the care of Hospice, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, June 22, 2004.



Irma was born August 10, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Catherine (Lenius) Wessel, in Perham where she grew up. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham. Irma married Milo Martinson on September 13, 1939. They remained in the Perham area until 1947 when they moved to Menasha, WI. In 1965, Milo and Irma returned to Perham.



Irma enjoyed sewing and made sure every member of her family, the old and especially the new, had one of her homemade quilts to keep them warm. She spent many hours enjoying her flower gardens and watching her backyard birds.



Irma will be sadly missed by her husband of sixty-four years, Milo, of Perham, MN; daughters, Carol Wogikoski (Dave), of Perham, MN, Joan Moon, of Rochester, MN, and Gail Knight (Dave), of Perham, MN; eight grandchildren; fourteen grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Inez Betts as well as nieces and nephews.



Preceding Irma in death are her parents; two sisters, Inza Wilczek and Izona Lorenzen; one nephew, Neil; one niece, Judy and one great-granddaughter, Stephane.
